      Craig Ferber (Project Manager)

Craig commenced employment with the committee in August 2008.  He is Loxton born and bred, but has worked in Port Lincoln, Adelaide and Airlie Beach in North Qld, as well as several of the Riverland towns.  Craig has worked in a variety of industries in a variety of roles, and has an affinity with dryland farmers working in a family business designing, manufacturing and selling agricultural machinery across Australia.

Craig has also as worked in the water delivery industry.  He spent time as CEO of both Sunlands and Golden Heights Irrigation Trusts at Waikerie and, at the same time, was also Secretary of Greenways Irrigation Trust at Nildottie.  Organisations with their own pumps on the River Murray and associated pipeline delivery infrastructure, delivering irrigation water to about 140 irrigators overall as well as non-potable water to domestic users within those schemes.

      Andrew Biele (Management Committee Member)

Andrew is the Farm Manager for an innovative consortium of dryland farmers to the south of Loxton (Bulla Burra) .  The consortium shares machinery and treats the combined properties as one when making management decisions.  Andrew has had previous roles developing large vineyards and orchards as well as being the Field Operations Manager with SARDI.  Andrew has an interest in sustainable agricultural and viticultural practices as well as an environmental bent.  Andrew took on the Chairperson role in February 2010.

"As I am not a landholder and therefore have limited opportunities to make an individual difference, I am pleased to be working actively within a group which is professionally coordinated and funded, with the correct links to appropriate other environmental groups. A great social network where likeminded people can interact, with the combined output resulting in significant differences to the sustainability of our precious surrounds".

      Dave Reilly (Management Committee Member)

Dave is the Managing Director of Gurra Downs Date Company Pty Ltd, co-owner of the Gurra Downs horticultural property and a Director of Gurra Wet Pty Ltd

Dave is a prime mover in the date palm industry in Australia.  His company has years of experience of, and experimentation with, different seeds etc to arrive at the variety of date best suited to various Australian conditions and able to utilise some of the poorer quality water available in many areas.  He is also heavily involved in developing a market for the end product fruit.

Dave holds a long-term interest in regional infrastructure and natural resource management and places much importance on environmental management.  He assisted in the formation of Gurra Wet Pty Ltd which has been involved in local rehabilitation projects (see Gurra Downs for more detail).  Dave is an ex member of the Riverland NRM Group and ex Chair of LBLAP.

    John Kelly (Inaugural Management Committee Member)

Semi retired, but a Vineyard Assessor during the season, ex grapegower, ex storekeeper, carpenter, boatbuilder - jack of all trades.  John is an invaluable member of the Committee as he can turn his hand to almost anything.

Burning interest in the environment and natural resource management issues and he is an ex Deputy Chair of LBLAP. Enjoys the fellowship associated with being a member of the Management Committee.

    Callie Nickolai (Auxillary Member)

Project Officer - Wetland Management (Upper Murray) Natural Resources SA MDB, and as such, supports all Riverland LAPs and community groups in the monitoring of wetlands throughout the region.

Aside from the period of her tertiary education, Callie has lived all her life in the region and is keen to be involved in on-ground projects in the LBLAP area.

Callie is also a keen traveller and amatuer photographer.

    Cat Attwood (Auxillary Member)

Cat is a school teacher who has lived in Loxton for 13 years and has been involved in community issues over that time.

Cat brings to the Committee, qualifications and skills in conservation and land management as well as links with local schools and youth groups.

Keen to get involved with onground projects in the region (eg school children involved in propagation of native seedlings and revegetation projects).

Cat has experience in delivering Waterwatch session for NRM and also holds a position on the Environmental Education Working Group.
